TILT-UP CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION is the process of on-site casting of concrete wall panels that are cured then tilted into position by crane.
Typically, tilt panels are load bearing, carrying the weight of the roof and this limits your choice of roofing materials to flat, hot-mopped systems. This is not desirable in Western Washington and is very costly to maintain.
CMS, Inc. has developed a system integrating steel roofing with the tilt-up system. The pre-engineered roof columns carry the weight, the concrete panels carry none. Now the panels can be thinner and can economically incorporate a wider variety of architectural features.
This method creates more usable square footage than a traditional tilt-up process with the same foundation size (footprint). This method is an upgrade in pricing but the low costs of maintenance and repair make the investment meaningful.
